On April 12-14, the sanatorium complex "Kamchia" will hold the stage of the World children's winners games.
In Bulgaria, the national stage of the X Games of winners – sports competitions for children, who recovered from cancer. The unique rehabilitation project helps children from all over the world to return to an active lifestyle and help with the recovery after the experience and treatment of the disease.
The sanatorium complex "Kamchia" will hold the competition. It is located 25 km from the capital of Bulgaria, Varna, near the Black Sea coast. It is next to a nature reserve protected by UNESCO.
Dense forest surrounds the "Kamchia." (It's rare for a temperate ecosystem to be similar to the jungle). Here children will see not only beautiful scenery but also clean sea air, which is useful for faster recovery after chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Sixty-fife participants of the national stage from 7 to 16 years old will come from different cities of Bulgaria to participate in competitions. They will compete in several disciplines:• mini-football
The first national stage in Bulgaria is an important event, to which the organizers have prepared for more than one year. Competitions became possible because of the excellent athlete, the triathlete, and the person with broad soul – Krasimir Georgiev. He held and led a charity marathon as part of the international movement "To the moon and back." One thousand one hundred eighty-five people joined Krasimir's idea. The volunteers traveled more than 40,000 km, and the Krasimir himself ran 55 hours without stopping. The Bulgarian athlete transferred more than 18 000 euros to the Sofia Fund, "the Commonwealth of children with oncohematological diseases," which he has been helping for several years.
Guests of the first Bulgarian national stage will be:
• Krasimir Georgiev – ultramarathon runner
• Tanya Bogomilova – Olympic champion in swimming, European champion, who played for the sports club CSKA (Sofia)
• Pavel Lefterov – race driver, winner of 12 titles in Motorsport
• Armen Nazaryan – Olympic champion (2 times), world champion (3 times), European champion (6 times)
The Committee of ANO "world children's games of winners" organizes and conducts the Games. Volunteers created the unique rehabilitation project under the auspices of the Charity Fund "Gift of Life." It has become a real holiday for young athletes from around the world. Every year Games are waiting for thousands of children and teenagers, as well as their families, volunteers, doctors, and all who help to recover. The Association of children with oncohematological diseases (Sofia) is holding the national stage in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian team has been involved in the project since its Foundation in 2010.
More than 500 children from 35 regions of Russia and 15 countries will come to Moscow for the final stage. In Moscow, CSKA from 3 to 7 July will hold competitions.
